As you make your way down the HoneyBook home page, you’ll see different sections keeping you up-to-date with the latest information about your business. Your newest leads and messages, most recent project activity, and more can all be accessed here.
This page also holds shortcuts to the parts and activities of your account that you’ll likely use the most, like building invoices and contracts, scheduling meetings, and setting up lead forms.
Overview
The first bar you’ll see once you complete your account setup holds an overview of your most important business items. In this section, you can view:
New leads: How many new leads you haven’t replied to yet that came in from contact forms, lead forms, and manually created projects
Leads that came in for archived projects will not appear
Unread messages: The amount of unread messages from your projects
Tasks: A count of the tasks assigned to you
Year-to-date bookings: Your total yearly bookings sums up the invoice amounts from your projects that were booked this year
This amount includes taxed amounts, is after any discounts are applied, does not include tips or refunds, and is before transaction fee and loan repayment deductions
Customize your home page
You can customize the layout and contents of your home page according to your business needs and preferences. By doing so, you can prioritize the information most relevant to you.
To customize your home page:
Click the Customize dashboard icon in the top right corner of your home page. This will open a pop-up called Edit your dashboard.
Toggle each feature on or off based on what you’d like to see when you log in
Use the 6-dot icon on the left-hand side of each feature to change its location on the home page
Click Apply
📣 Note
If you toggle a feature off, it will hide the feature from the Edit your dashboard page. You can find the feature again by clicking the Customize dashboard icon and selecting “hidden items” at the bottom of the Edit your dashboard page.

Sections in your HoneyBook home page
Leads
Your Leads section holds all the leads you haven’t responded to yet that came in from a contact form or were manually added to a project. These can come from lead forms, contact forms, or can be manually created from a project you’ve started on. Once you send the lead a message, archive the lead, or an automation rule responds to the lead, they’ll leave this collection.
Select a lead to open up the activity feed of the project workspace for that lead. You can also quickly create a new lead form by clicking + Lead form near the top of the section. To see all your new leads, click Go to inquiries > at the bottom of the section.
Tasks
Your Tasks section has tasks assigned to you that are open as well as tasks assigned to team members that are participants in the same projects as you. If you have any automation tasks that require your approval, these will also appear in this section.
Create new tasks by clicking + Task.
Calendar
Your Calendar section contains your upcoming project and calendar events (like scheduled meetings), including integrated calendars. Only meetings from your calendar and projects you’re a participant in will appear here (for example, it won't contain any team member’s meetings).
Select a meeting to open up your calendar and view the session’s details. You can also schedule a new meeting by clicking + Meeting.
Create
The Create section of your home page allows you to perform tasks instantly:
New Client: Create a new client profile for your Contacts list
New Project: Make a new project to begin working with a client
New Invoice: Build a new invoice to begin the process of getting paid
New Contract: Build a new contract to book a client and get their electronic signature
New Meeting: Schedule a new meeting with a client
New Lead form: Create a public custom inquiry or booking experience
Payments overview
The Payments overview section shows an overview of the month’s expected payments:
Paid: Client payments you’ve already received
Processing: Payments that a client made but are still processing
Upcoming: Expected upcoming payments (based on your project invoice dates)
Overdue: Overdue client payments (where the due date has already passed)
You can also create an invoice from this section by clicking + Create invoice.
Payments
Your Payments section is similar to the Payment overview and holds info about your expected payments for the current month. It also shows the current month's gross payments. These amounts are calculated including tips, late fees, taxes, and discounts. The amount does not include deduction of fees, loan repayments, and/or dispute chargebacks.
You can view all your payments by clicking Go to payments >. Get a detailed breakdown of this section if you have any more questions about what information it holds.
📚 Tip
Only company owners and super admins can view payment info on their home screen. If you're neither of these, go to your Payments screen to view this info.
Activity
Your Activity section holds the most recent notifications for projects you’re a participant in.
📚 Tip
Notifications for activities that aren’t tied to a project will not appear here.
This section will include notifications for when:
You or a team member created a smart file draft
A file was sent to a client
A client viewed a file
A client made a payment
A contract was signed
A smart file was completed
You received a message
A session was scheduled
Selecting most activity notifications will open up the project workspace that the activity came from (with the exception of file update notifications). Selecting a file update notification will open up the file summary.
You can create a new project by clicking + Project.
Unread messages
The Unread messages section is your inbox and shows the most recent unread messages from your projects. These can come from either collaborators or clients, and you can select a message to open up the project workspace that the message came from. Messages that aren’t tied to a project will not appear here.
Recent notes
Your Recent notes section shows your most recently created notes and gives you the option to create more.
Review existing notes by selecting them. Manage notes (edit them, duplicate them, or delete them) by hovering over the note. Create new notes by selecting + Note. If you create a new note, decide whether it should be filed as a project note or a client note.
