In order to help you keep everything in one place, HoneyBook allows you to email your clients directly through a HoneyBook Project (instead of needing to bounce between us and your email)—and you can do so through the iOS and Android app as well! You can even attach images, PDFs, or supported HoneyBook files to your messages.

PLEASE NOTE:
Emails you send through a Project will go to all participants associated with that particular Workspace.

In this article, we'll review:

iOS & Android: Sending an email

1.  Find or create the Project that requires an email or file to be sent, as both emails and files need to be associated with existing Projects.

  • Find a Project: search via the search icon at the top of your app's Home screen (Pipeline view), or locate the Project from the Project List in your Pipeline.
  • Create a Project: learn how here!

2.  Once in the Project, you can send an email in a few different ways. You can:

  • From the Activity tab, tap the message box at the bottom of the screen to create a new email
  • From the Activity tab, tap Reply on any email, which will keep the same subject line and create an email thread
  • From the Details or Files tabs, tap Send File or Message to create a new email

PLEASE NOTE: For email threading functionality, make sure you have your Gmail integration set up!

3.  If starting a new email, enter your email subject line.

PLEASE NOTE: If you've chosen to reply to an existing email, changing the subject line will discontinue the existing email thread, as threaded emails need to have the same subject line. Changing the subject line at this stage will, in effect, create a new email instead.

4.  Enter the body of your email. You can:

  • Create a new message by tapping the empty email body field to display your keyboard and formatting bar, then entering your email text.
  • Select the Templates menu at the top of the screen to choose from your existing email Templates.

PLEASE NOTE: If you've chosen to reply to an existing email, selecting an email Template will overwrite the original subject line, which will discontinue the existing email thread.

6.  When you’re ready, tap Send.

iOS & Android: Sending a file

1.  Find or create the Project that requires a file to be sent, as files need to be associated with existing Projects.

  • Find a Project: search via the search icon at the top of your app's Home screen (Pipeline view), or locate the Project from the Project List in your Pipeline.
  • Create a Project: learn how here!

2.  Once in the Project, you can tap the message box in the Activity tab, or tap Send File or Message from the Details or Files tabs. All options will open the email editor and allow you to attach a file.

3.  Select or create the email that will send with your file. You can either:

  • Create a new message by tapping the empty email body field to display your keyboard and formatting bar, then entering your subject line and email text.
  • Select the Templates menu at the top of the screen to choose from your existing email Templates.

4.  Now, to attach your file of choice, tap the Attach (paper clip) icon. You may need to
tap the body of the email again to reveal the icon.

5.  Select the type of file you'd like to attach. At the moment, the only HoneyBook files you can send through the iOS app are Invoices, Questionnaires, & Brochures, though we’re hoping to expand this functionality in the future. You can also choose to send a non-HoneyBook file or image from here.

Check out more on editing and sending each HoneyBook file type below!

6.  When you’re ready with your file, tap Send.
