Reviewing project notifications with the activity feed

Stay up to date on your projects by understanding how they're progressing what what tasks are complete.

Updated over a week ago

As you and your clients work in HoneyBook—sending and completing smart files, paying invoices, and communicating with each other—you may want some help keeping track of what’s going on. That’s where the activity feed comes in. This feed, which can be found on your home page and in project workspaces, lets you know exactly what’s going on in your account through a timeline of activities.

This works by generating notifications for the various activities, like sending a client a file or receiving a message, and keeping those notifications in the same places so so you don’t have to spend time catching up on the project, digging through your inbox or waiting for a team member to come back from vacation to get you up to speed.

📚 Tip

These platform notifications will always generate and land in your activity feed. While you can’t change what platform notifications are generated, you can set what desktop, email, and mobile notifications you receive.

Review all of your most recent notifications

Your home page’s Activity section holds notifications for all of your most recent project updates. Notifications for activities that aren’t tied to a project will not appear here. These notifications will have labels for the project they came from, but you cannot filter this activity feed. The most recent notifications will appear at the top.

Selecting most activity notifications will open up the project workspace that the activity came from—with the exception of file update notifications. Selecting a file update notification will open up the file summary.

This home page activity feed will have notifications for when:

  • You or a team member created a smart file draft

  • A file was sent to a client

  • A client viewed a file

  • A client made a payment

  • A contract was signed

  • A smart file was completed

  • You received a message

  • A session was scheduled

  • A session was rescheduled

  • A session was canceled

To review all of your most recent notifications in the same place:

1. On your home page, find your Activity section.

2. Select a notification in this section to view the project that generated the notification.

3. Go to your project pipeline and your list of projects by selecting Go to active projects > at the bottom of the section.

Review notifications for a specific project

Your project workspaces also hold an activity feed, but just for that project. These notifications will contain links to the relevant activity (e.g., the smart file that was signed or the meeting that was scheduled), with the most recent activity appearing at the top. You cannot filter these notifications.

This project workspace activity feed will have notifications for when:

  • You or a team member created a smart file draft

  • A file was sent to a client

  • A client viewed a file

  • A client made a payment

  • A contract was signed
