How to edit or remove an active automation that is currently running in a project.

Updated over 2 months ago

Once you’ve created and applied your automation to a project (which can be done manually, automatically via a contact form inquiry, or automatically via lead form submission), you can still make changes to upcoming steps or even remove the automation before it’s finished.

📣 Note

This article references automations, available for Essentials and Premium plan members. Learn more about the features included in each plan here.

Edit an active automation

  1. Locate the project for which you’d like to edit the automation by either::

    1. Searching for the specific project via the search icon

    2. Selecting the Projects tab to review your full list of projects

  2. From the Only visible to you section to the right side of your screen, you’ll see the automation that’s currently running

    1. Click Full View

  3. Click Edit

  4. Make any changes that you need. For any steps that have not yet occurred, you can:

    1. Hover over a step to reveal the 6-dot icon (to drag and drop, rearranging steps), the trash can icon (to delete a step), and the duplicate icon (to duplicate the step)

    2. Click a step to adjust the action type, select a different file template, select a different email template, or change the trigger

    3. You can also click the plus (+) button to add a new step

  5. When everything looks good, click Publish Changes

    1. This will save your updates, so the automation in the project will reflect those updates moving forward

Remove an automation

Removing an automation from a project will prevent any future actions from triggering. You can also remove completed automations in order to apply another.

  1. Locate the project for which you’d like to edit the automation by either::

    1. Searching for the specific project via the search icon

    2. Selecting the Projects tab to review your full list of projects

  2. From the Only visible to you section to the right side of your screen, you’ll see the automation that’s currently running

    1. Click Remove

  3. Click Confirm to finalize the removal

The automation will be removed from the project and no additional actions will trigger. You can now apply a new automation to the project, if needed.
