Fix a time zone issue

What you should do if your calendar or sessions aren’t using the right time zone.

If you're experiencing inconsistencies with your Calendar or session time zones, there are a few things you can do to ensure accuracy.

These steps help resolve the issue for any sessions scheduled moving forward. If you need to update the time for an existing session, locate the session on your HoneyBook Calendar > click Edit > adjust the time and click Save.


Understand what time zone to pick

Since some areas of North America observe daylight savings, while others don't, selecting a time zone can get a little tricky! Double check which time zone you're in on the maps below.

U.S. time zones

Most areas of the United States (those that do observe daylight saving time) should select the dual option for their particular time zone (e.g., the CDT/CST option, not the singular CST option).

  • If your area does observe daylight saving time and you select the singular (e.g., the CST) option, your scheduled sessions will be off by one hour once daylight saving time hits

The areas of Arizona that do not observe daylight saving should set their time zone to the singular, Standard Time option of MST (not MDT/MST), and those in Hawaii should set their time zone to HST.

Canadian time zones

Those living in the areas of Canada that do observe daylight saving should select the dual option for their particular time zone (e.g., the CDT/CST option, not the singular CST option).

Those living in the areas of Canada that do not observe daylight saving should select the singular, Standard Time option for their particular time zone (e.g., most of Saskatchewan should select CST, not CDT/CST).

Once you've confirmed the timezone option to select, make sure your main account and session-specific time zones are set correctly.


Check your account's time zone

  1. From the top nav menu, select your profile photo > select Company Settings

  2. Select the Company Brand tab > find the More Info section

  3. Under Timezone, select the right time zone

From here, your Calendar and sessions should use the selected time zone by default.


Check your session time zone settings

When creating session types, be sure to confirm that the time zones are set correctly in the Details sections of the setup.

A session's time zone should default to the time zone set under Company Settings. The availability you set for a session will reflect the session's time zone, regardless of where your client is located.

  • For example, if a session is set for Pacific Time with availability from 1:00-2:00pm, a client on Eastern Time would see that availability as 4:00-5:00pm
