Before you start
You can attach PDFs, JPGs, PNGs, and DOCs (maximum size: 8 MB)
Attachments work in projects, templates, automations, bulk emails, and the mobile app
Smart fields let you auto-populate client, project, or business details into your emails
Always check that smart fields are filled before you send to avoid empty placeholders
Attach files to emails in HoneyBook
You can send attachments in HoneyBook from:
An email within a project’s activity feed
An email template (see Tip below)
A bulk or batch email
The mobile app
Look for the paper clip icon near the Send button to add files. Select the X by an attachment to remove it.
You can also send an attachment in an email as part of an automation (for example, if you want to send your client an email with a file attached after they’ve submitted a lead form). Automations with attachments display a paper clip icon.
📚 Tip
If you save an email template with an attachment, that attachment is included every time the template is used. Templates and automations with attachments will show a paper clip icon next to their name.
Attach files in project emails
There are three ways to attach files directly to an email from within a project’s activity feed:
Attach from the HoneyBook Library
Choose an image or file to attach from your library
Create and attach a new Smart File
After clicking the paper clip icon, click Create new file
The Smart File builder will open, allowing you to create a brand new file to attach to your email
Note: Creating a new Smart File from within the email builder is only available on desktop.
Attach an existing Smart File
Choose an existing Smart File to attach
