How to start using your HoneyBook Finance debit card

Learn how to add your virtual debit card to your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet as well as how to order a new physical debit card

A core part of your business checking account is your HoneyBook Finance debit card. Using it for business expenses gives you valuable financial insights, like tracking your project expenses and learning where and how you typically spend your money.

You'll have two debit cards: your virtual card, which is available immediately; and your physical card, which must be ordered.


Add your virtual debit card to your Apple Wallet

Adding your virtual debit card to your Apple Wallet lets you make payments on the go! Even if you leave your card at home, you can make purchases with your phone or send money via text.

The steps below will walk your through gathering your virtual debit card details via your computer, then adding your card to your Apple Wallet via your iPhone.

To gather your virtual debit card details:

1. Go to the Finance tab in the top navigation menu β†’ select Dashboard.

2. Find your HoneyBook debit cards β†’ select View cards.

3. Enter the code sent to your phone into the 2-step verification prompt.

a. If you're getting an error message that your 2FA phone number is invalid or you aren't receiving a code, contact support by clicking the Question Mark icon on any HoneyBook page.

4. Your virtual card details will appear. Gather these details:

a. Your card number

b. Your expiration date

c. Your security code (aka your CVV code)

Once you've gathered this information, add your virtual debit card to your Apple Wallet. When prompted, opt to add the card details manually.

Add your virtual debit card to your Google Wallet

Adding your virtual debit card to your Google Wallet lets you make payments on the go! Even if you leave your card at home, you can make purchases with your phone or send money via text.

The steps below will walk your through gathering your virtual debit card details via your computer, then adding your card to your Google Wallet via your Android device.

To gather your virtual debit card details:

1. Go to the Finance tab in the top navigation menu β†’ select Dashboard.

2. Find your HoneyBook debit cards β†’ select View cards.

3. Enter the code sent to your phone into the 2-step verification prompt.

Order and activate your physical debit card

One of the first things you should do once you open a HoneyBook Finance checking account is order a physical debit card. Your physical debit card will be sent to the address you supplied on your application.

If you're getting an error message that your 2FA phone number is invalid or you aren't receiving a code, contact support by clicking the Question Mark icon on any HoneyBook page.

Order a physical debit card

1. Go to the Finance tab in the top navigation menu β†’ select Dashboard.

2. Find your HoneyBook debit cards β†’ select View cards.

3. Enter the code sent to your phone into the 2-step verification prompt.

4. Under Physical card, select Order a physical card.

5. Select Order Card.

6. Confirm the card's shipping address. If this address isn't correct, contact support.

a. The card will take 10–14 business days to arrive. If the card hasn't arrived after 14 business days, contact support by clicking the Question Mark icon on any HoneyBook page.

Once the card arrives, you can activate it from your dashboard.

Activate your physical debit card

1. Go to the Finance tab in the top navigation menu β†’ select Dashboard.

2. Find your HoneyBook debit cards β†’ select Activate physical card.

3. Enter your 2-step verification code.

4. Enter your card's expiration date and security code (aka CVV) β†’ select Create Pin Code.

5. Enter what you want your card's 4-digit pin code to be β†’ select Activate Card.

Once you've activated your card and set a pin code, your card will be activated! If you want to activate your card by phone, call Visa at +1(833) 333-0417.


FAQs

Can I withdraw funds from ATMs?

You can! Any ATM machines within the Visa, Plus, Accel, or Interlink financial networks can be used to withdraw cash (though you will incur a withdrawal fee if the machine is not owned by Allpoint).

If you do incur a withdrawal fee, that fee amount will count towards your withdrawal limit of $1,000 USD. You must insert your physical debit card into the machine, as withdrawals using your virtual debit card are currently not supported.


What is the purchase limit and withdrawal limit for my debit card?

  • Maximum daily purchase limit: $5,000 USD

  • Maximum daily ATM withdrawal limit: $1,000 USD

    • You can only withdraw $400 USD per ATM session, whereas your total daily withdrawal limit is $1,000 USD. If you want to withdraw more, you'll need to use the ATM machine multiple times.

    • If you incur a withdrawal fee, that fee amount will count towards your withdrawal limit.


Why are my virtual and physical debit card details different?

By using different card details on your physical debit card and having you activate it after you’ve received it, you’re at a much lower risk of card activity fraud.

Upon completing your HoneyBook Finance onboarding, your virtual debit card is instantly activated and ready for immediate use. In contrast, if your physical debit card had the same information, it would be activated even before it reaches you by mail. This poses a risk as potential fraudsters could gain unrestricted access to the funds in your HoneyBook Finance account and make unauthorized purchases with the card.


What should I do if I notice fraudulent card charges on my account?

You should take immediate action if you notice fraudulent card charges on your account. Learn how to respond to card activity fraud here.


What if I forgot the pin or need to reset the pin for my card?

To reset your debit card's pin code (either virtual or physical), call Visa at +1 (833) 333-0417.


What should I do if an ATM doesn't dispense my cash?

If you make a withdrawal from an ATM and your cash doesn't dispense, you should first check if the withdrawal appeared on your transactions table. If it has, call Visa at 1-833-333-1098 to dispute the withdrawal charge.


Can I reverse/cancel a card transaction?

HoneyBook cannot reverse or cancel a card transaction, as HoneyBook does not hold your funds. If you have any issues with a transaction, report it as fraudulent to Visa by calling +1 (833) 333-0417.
