If you’re having issues verifying your EIN
If you’re having trouble verifying your EIN, there are 2 common reasons for this. First, the issue might not be from EIN itself, but from the Legal Business Name. On your SS-4 form from the IRS that contains your EIN, there’s a portion that contains your legal business name. It’s in all caps and might even be 2 rows of type. You’ll need to enter that portion exactly as it’s written on the SS-4 form into the Legal Business Name information in your bank information, all caps included.
Secondly, it might be possible your EIN is too new, and not yet in the IRS database. The IRS generally takes 4–6 weeks to input newly issued EINs into their system and because of this, your EIN verification could be failing because it’s too new. If your EIN was issued within the last 60 days, and you’re entering the legal business name shown on the first 2 lines of your SS-4, contact [email protected].
Update your business name after IRS changes
If you’ve submitted a business name change to the IRS, it might take several weeks to a few months for them to send your updated SS-4 form. While you're waiting for the new documentation:

📚 Tip
If you don’t have the SS-4 form, you can request a 147-C letter from the IRS to use for verification purposes.
