Share the client portal with your clients

Learn about your different options for sharing the client portal in a project and at the company level.

Updated this week

The client portal is your client's view of a project workspace. It gives them access to everything in one place: communication, files, and project details. When you send files or emails through HoneyBook, you can choose to include a link to the portal so your client can view and take action on what you’ve shared.

Sharing the client portal is optional, and you have control over when and how it’s shared—either at the project level or for your entire company.

👀 What does your client see when they visit the client portal?

Your client can see the Activity tab, Files tab, and more. Learn about what they can see.

How to share the client portal in a project

You can share the portal with your client in two ways:

Option 1: Send a Direct Link

  1. From the navigation menu, go to Projects.

  2. Click into the project.

  3. In the Client portal box, copy the portal link or click Send to share it directly.

How to disable the client portal for a project

If you don't want your client to access the portal for a specific project:

  1. From the navigation menu, go to Projects.

  2. Click into the project.

  3. In the Client portal box, toggle Include client portal links in files or emails to OFF.

Control client portal access at the company level

If you don’t want to share the client portal link in any future files or emails from your company, you can toggle the feature OFF.

This way, clients won’t know about the portal unless you send them a direct link. Note that this only applies to new files and emails sent from your company; it won’t remove the link from files and emails you’ve already sent.

Remove client portal link from future files and emails

  1. From the navigation menu, click your profile photo.

  2. Select Company Settings.

  3. Click Domain & Client Portal.

  4. In the Client portal box, toggle Include client portal links in files or emails to OFF
