How your clients log into the client portal

Learn about the different ways your clients can log into their portal.

Updated this week

When your clients access the client portal, they have a few flexible sign-in options depending on whether they’ve logged in before. This article outlines each login method, so you can better understand what your clients will see and how they’ll access their project.

Remember: you can share the client portal in one of two ways: with a direct link that you share with your client, or by automatically including it in files from a project. Depending on how you share the client portal, your client’s login experience will be different.

Logging in to the client portal from a direct link

Your clients can access the client portal from a direct link in a few different ways:

  • Via a link sent to their email

  • By entering their email and password, if they’ve previously set one up

  • By creating a password, if it’s their first time logging in

Option 1: Have a link sent to their email

By having a link sent to the email address they use to communicate with you through HoneyBook, your client can avoid having to enter an email address and password.

  1. After completing a file, your client will see a screen with a link that says Go to your portal

  2. Client clicks the link

  3. Client clicks Already have a password? Log in
