When you create a project in HoneyBook, you’ll also need to either add a contact or create a profile for them. Creating a contact for them allows you to track their booked value, see meetings you’ve had with them, and track notes.
You’ll also get some help from HoneyBook’s AI assistant to learn more about your client. This is done by the AI pulling in details automatically about your contact (which you can opt out of—more instructions on that below).
Make a contact profile
From the top navigation menu, select Clients > select Contacts
If you’re in a project workspace, you can select Add Participant above the workspace’s tags to make a contact profile
Select Add Contact > Client/Lead
Fill out the client’s info > select Add
Supplying the contact’s company name (e.g., their business name) will greatly help the AI Assistant find additional contact details
From here, the contact’s profile will get created. After short time, contact details retrieved by the AI Assistant will appear (like the contact’s social media accounts, address, and specialties).

Let us know if the details retrieved by the AI Assistant was helpful to you by voting below the contact details.
Edit any details by selecting Edit details > make your changes > select Save. You can also manage your custom contact fields.
More about contact enrichment
The client’s details will appear in the project workspace’s activity field once the AI Assistant is done retrieving them
Contact enrichment will happen automatically for each contact added manually, through contact forms and lead forms, created through the Scheduler, or generated by Zapier
Contact enrichment won’t be available for contacts added through the Google import or batch created through a .CSV file
You can turn off automatic contact profile enrichment in your settings
Toggle contact detail enrichment
If you want to opt out of having the AI Assistant retrieve contact details for you, you’ll need to toggle this off in your settings.
From the top navigation menu, select your profile photo > select Company Settings
Select the Preferences tab
In the Data Management section, toggle off Client data enrichment
From here, the AI Assistant will no longer automatically pull in contact details for you. If you want to turn this back on, return here and toggle the setting on.
