HoneyBook's AI composer generates personalized email responses for new inquiries and client emails. You can quickly edit and send, saving you valuable time and effort.
How to use the AI composer
On desktop
1. Search for and open the new inquiry or project that contains a new client response.
📚 Tip
For new leads, you'll receive a notification (under the bell icon in the top right corner of your screen) when the suggested response is ready. You can click on the notification to be brought straight to the new inquiry.
2. From within the project, select Review draft.
3. The suggested response will open in a pop-up. From here:
Click the refresh icon to generate a new response
Click the thumbs up or thumbs down icon to rate the response
Update the suggested response to better fit the situation by selecting one of the follow-up prompts

Don't want to use the suggested response? Just click X.
4. Next, select Review Before Sending.
5. Edit the suggested response from the email composer as needed, then click Send when you’re ready.
Once you’ve sent the response, the email will appear in the project’s activity feed and the client's email inbox, just like any other message.
From the mobile app
1. Search for and open the new inquiry or project that contains a new client response.
📚 Tip
For new leads, you’ll receive a mobile push notification when the suggested response is ready. This notification will also appear in your app's notification center.
To ensure no leads go missed, make sure to enable push notifications!
2. From within the project, swipe up on the AI composer to open the suggested response. From here:
Tap the refresh icon to generate a new response
Tap the thumbs up or thumbs down icon to rate the response
Update the suggested response to better fit the situation by selecting one of the follow-up prompts

Don't want to use the suggested response? Just swipe down on the AI composer to close it.
3. Next, tap Review Before Sending.
4. Edit the suggested response as needed, then click Send when you’re ready.
Once you’ve sent the response, the email will appear in the project’s activity feed and the client's email inbox, just like any other message.
FAQ
How does the AI composer work?
New leads: When a new lead comes in via HoneyBook contact form, your company name, industry type, and the fields of the contact form are received by the AI composer. The composer drafts up a suggested response in real-time: an email reply that's personally tailored to your lead and matches your tone.
Client emails: The AI composer for project emails takes in the historical communication from the corresponding project, project context, and your own personal style; then uses this information to generate a suggested email reply.
What's eligible for a suggested response?
In order for the AI composer to generate an accurate and complete response, there needs to have been enough communication history in the corresponding project. The AI composer can suggest a response when a new lead comes in via HoneyBook contact form, or when at least 2 client emails have been sent in the project.
Can I turn off the AI composer?
Yes, you can turn off the AI composer and all suggested responses.
📣 Note
At the moment, the AI composer can only be turned off from the HoneyBook mobile app.
To turn off the AI composer:
1. Open your HoneyBook mobile app.
2. Tap the Settings tab.
3. Toggle Use AI composer OFF.
How do I access a suggested response for a lead once the notification goes away?
Even after the corresponding notification disappears, you'll still be able to access the AI composer's suggested response for a lead. Just open the corresponding project > click the AI composer icon by the email composer.
Do I have to use the AI composer's suggested responses?
No, you don't have to use the AI composer's suggested responses. If you'd prefer, you can always create a different response and send it off to the project participants.
