How to manage your task list in HoneyBook

Tasks in HoneyBook are your internal to-do list, visible only to you and your team—not your clients—making them a great way to keep your projects organized.

Note

Tasks can also be tied to a specific project.


Add a general task

General tasks are added directly to your main task list, with no project associated. These tasks are private to you. Once you tie that task to a project, though, it will no longer be private.

  1. From the top nav menu, select Tools > select Tasks

  2. Select Add Task

    1. A new task will appear at the top of the table

  3. Label the task, give it a due date, and assign the task by selecting the profile photo

    1. The task details will automatically save as you add or change them

    2. If you connect the task to a project, it won't be private anymore

From here, the task can be found in the Tasks tool. If the tasks you were expecting to see disappear, you need to adjust your task list's status filter.


Adjust the task list's status filter

Review the list of things that still need to be done, the ones that are due today, the ones that have been finished, and more by changing the filters on the project task list. When you select a new status filter, only those tasks will appear in the task list.

  1. From the top nav menu, select Tools > select Tasks

  2. Above the task list, select the filter

    1. This usually will default to Open tasks

  3. Change the filter for the task list

    1. You'll see how many tasks have each status when viewing the filter options

Task status filter options

Filter option

Description

Open tasks

Shows all incomplete tasks regardless of due date.

Tasks due today

Shows tasks due today.

Tasks due this week

Shows tasks due this week.

Overdue tasks

Shows tasks that are past due.

Tasks to approve

Completed tasks

Shows completed tasks.


Delete a general task

If a task is no longer important or necessary, you can remove it to ensure that your list of tasks remains accurate and up-to-date. Keep in mind that once a task is deleted, it cannot be restored, so double-check before deleting any tasks.

For tasks you've completed, mark it as complete by selecting the empty circle next to them.

  1. From the top nav menu, select Tools > select Tasks

  2. Find the task you want to delete > select the trash can icon
