How to access your task list, add tasks, and receive notifications for tasks through the iOS and Android apps

Updated over a month ago

Tasks in HoneyBook are your internal to-do list, visible only to you and your team—not your clients—making them a great way to keep your Projects organized whether using desktop, or, as detailed below, the iOS or Android app.

From both apps, you can access your full task list, enable push notifications for task reminders, as well as view and edit tasks from within individual projects.

Note

Push notifications can also be set up to let you know that a task is coming due. If you enable them, you'll get a notification at 9am (based on your time zone) of all tasks due that day. If the task is tied to a project, all team members on that project will be notified. If the task isn't tied to a project, the task's creator will be notified.

View your list of tasks on mobile

All your tasks—general ones that only you can see as well as tasks tied to a project that all participants can see—can be found on your app's Tasks tool.

  1. Open the app > tap Tools in the bottom navigation menu

  2. In the Productivity section, tap Tasks

Tasks that are due today will appear. You can re-sort this list and reverse the order of it.

Adjust the task list's status filter

Review the list of things that still need to be done, the ones that are due today, the ones that have been finished, and more by changing the filters on the project task list. When you select a new status filter, only those tasks will appear in the task list.

  1. When viewing your list of tasks, tap the status filter drop-down menu

    1. This usually defaults to "Today's tasks"

  2. Change the filter for the task list

    1. You'll see how many tasks have each status when viewing the filter options

Sort your tasks

These tasks can be sorted alphabetically by description, due date, or project name by selecting the drop-down menu above the task list.

Reverse the order of your tasks

Reverse the order by tapping the two arrows next to each other.

Add a general task on mobile

General tasks are added directly to your main task list, with no project associated. These tasks are private to you. Once you tie that task to a project, though, it will no longer be private.

  1. Open the app > tap Tools in the bottom navigation menu

  2. In the Productivity section, tap Tasks

  3. Tap the plus icon at the top of your screen

  4. Label the task, give it a due date, and assign the task

    1. You can also connect the task to a project here. If you connect the task to a project, it won't be private anymore

  5. Tap Save

Note

When you're ready to mark that task complete, select the empty circle next to it. You can review completed tasks by changing the project task list's status filter.

Add a project task on mobile

Tasks related to your project are connected to that specific project. You can see them in the project itself and in your main list of tasks. Your teammates who have been included in projects with tasks can also see and make changes to the tasks.

  1. Open the app > select the project that you'll add a task to

  2. From here, there are two ways to add a task:

    1. Using the Tasks section

    2. Using the triple-dot icon

Add a project task from the Tasks section

  1. Below the project tabs, select Tasks

  2. Tap the plus icon above your task list

  3. Label the task, give it a due date, and assign the task

    1. If needed, change which project this task is tied to by tapping the profile icon > pick the new project

    2. Disconnect this task from all projects by tapping the x icon

  4. Tap Save at the top of your screen

Add a project task from the triple-dot icon

  1. Next to the project name, tap the triple-dot icon

  2. Tap Add & view tasks

  3. Tap the plus icon above your task list

  4. Label the task, give it a due date, and assign the task

    1. If needed, change which project this task is tied to by tapping the profile icon > pick the new project

    2. Disconnect this task from all projects by tapping the x icon

  5. Tap Save
