FAQ: Contact forms

Answers to frequently-asked questions about contact forms

Updated over a month ago

How do I delete a contact form?

In HoneyBook, you cannot delete contact forms that have previously been published. We recommend renaming old contact forms to indicate that they're no longer in use, then creating and embedding a new one.

If you want to remove an embedded contact form from your business website, look up the instructions for your specific webhost.

Where can I share my contact form direct link?

Here are a few ways members share their direct links:

  • Have a website, but don’t want to deal with embedding code? Just use a simple button or another hyperlink to direct leads to the direct link version of your form

  • Got a big following on Facebook? Share the link on your Facebook Business page

  • Maybe you’re an Instagram star? Link in bio with Linktree

  • At a trade show, conference, or just generally out and about? Pop the link open yourself, from any device, and have your leads fill it out on the spot

  • Big fan of digital marketing materials? Throw it in those

  • And, since emails are a forever favorite, you can always link to your form in marketing sends, in your email signature, and more

How does the spam protection work?

To ensure that the leads coming in are safe and legitimate, the HoneyBook contact form uses Google Spam Protection.

Google’s Spam Protection uses reCAPTCHA to instantly analyze the quality of an interaction with your contact form, evaluating a wide range of cues that differentiate humans from bots. This helps prevent automated software systems from taking harmful actions on your site, while still allowing real users to submit their contact forms.

This security system will instantly determine whether the submitter is a human or a bot. Human users will be let through without a challenge and without seeing the I'm Not A Robot checkbox, while suspicious users and bots will have to solve the challenges.

How many contact forms can I create?

You can create unlimited contact forms, but the number of contact forms that you can publish depends on your membership plan.

How do multiple contact forms work with my automations?

Your contact form(s) will be able to activate automations in one of two ways.

If you have automations set to activate based on particular project types, the project type will be the deciding factor in the automation (rather than which contact form the inquiry came from).

  • Let's say you have an automation set up for the party project type, and you have two contact forms in use: Contact Form #1 and Contact Form #2

    • Someone submitting an inquiry for a party on Contact Form #1 AND someone submitting an inquiry for a party on Contact Form #2 will receive the same party automation

If you have an automation assigned as the default for your contact form, submissions from ANY contact form will activate this automation, as long as:

  • A project type selected does not have an automation associated

  • A project type has not been selected or assigned at all

Can I use contact forms on different websites with different URLs?

Yes, you can embed your contact forms on whatever pages make the most sense for your business.
