When you un-expire a smart file, your clients will regain full access and be able to complete any actions. It will also resume automatic payments and payment reminders. You have two options when un-expiring: either edit the smart file before un-expiring and re-sharing, or simply un-expire with no changes.
Un-expire a file without editing it
Find and open the file you want to un-expire
From the file, select the gear icon from the top navigation menu
Select Reactivate file
Select Save
From here, the file will be un-expired, and your client can continue working on it.
Edit a file before un-expiring it
You can make any needed changes to an expired file before un-expiring it:
Find and open the file you want to un-expire
From the top navigation menu, select Edit File
Make any needed changes to the smart file
Select Publish Changes
Confirm you want to reactivate the smart file > send an email to your client notifying them of the changes
What happens when you un-expire a file
Reactivating a smart file will allow your clients full access again, and enable them to complete any actions that still need to be finished.
Files with invoices
If your smart file had payments, especially if they were set for autopay, please carefully review the payment schedule before reactivating. Invoices with automatic payments will immediately process any overdue autopay payments upon reactivation. If you don't want these payments to process immediately, make sure to edit the payment schedule before reactivating.
Files with contracts
Both you and your client will be able to sign the file (if not previously added).
Files with service selections or questions
If not previously submitted, clients will be able to make selections/answer questions and submit.
