It's time to identify and remove unnecessary gaps or delays in your process by consolidating actions and steps. In this article, you'll get the most commonly combined actions and steps in smart files for you to consider. These suggestions can inspire you to think creatively and improve your client experience while saving time.
Combine services and invoicing
By combining services and invoice blocks, you can eliminate back-and-forth communication and potential delays in the process. Rather than waiting for client approvals or selections, you can offer a streamlined experience. There are two situations where this can be beneficial:
Streamlined selection and checkout experience: Consider providing clients with a list of services or items to choose from, allowing them to pay instantly for their selections. Additionally, you can still include non-selected items in the invoice block for billing.
Bookable quote: If you want to display a list of services that you and your client have already discussed, similar to a quote, along with invoicing and payment options, it gives the client the opportunity to immediately move forward with booking if they are satisfied with the quote.
Combine invoicing and a contract
Streamline the process with your new clients by combining payment and signature into one place. This one-stop-access allows your clients to book you without any gaps between signature and payment.
To make it even more convenient, the details of your invoice will automatically fill into the appropriate smart fields in the contract when they are part of the same smart file. This eliminates the need to manually add specific service and payment plan information each time.
📣 Note
If you have marked a contract's signature as required and included an invoice afterwards, your client must sign the contract before they can make payments. The client will only be able to access the invoice after they have signed the contract.
Combine services, invoicing, and a contract
To create a seamless self-service purchasing experience for your clients, combine service blocks, contracts, and an invoice page into a single smart file. This works well for sellers of evergreen products, preset packages, services grouped together, or subscriptions.
With this approach, clients can review and select from a variety of services, review terms, sign, and submit payment all in one interaction.
Combine questions and a contract
Including questions in your smart file is another great way to save time and fill things in without lifting a finger. You can set the questions from one part of your smart file to connect to the fields in your contract on another page. That means, in the same instance that you’re collecting job-specific details from your client, HoneyBook is playing secretary on your contract page, filling in all those fields for you.
This will cut down time on your end, and give your clients a super custom experience when they see the answers they just gave already added into the contract portion of your smart file.
By including questions in your smart file, you can save time and effortlessly fill in important information. You can link the questions in one part of your smart file to the fields in your contract on another page. This feature allows HoneyBook to automatically populate the contract fields with the client's responses, streamlining the process for you and creating a personalized experience for your clients.
Combine scheduling and questions
Including a questions block and a scheduler block in the same smart file lets you gather any necessary details from your clients and allow them to book time with you, all in one place. When the session rolls around, you'll already have a head start with answers on hand.
Combine scheduling and an invoice
When you're adding a scheduler block to a smart file, you'll have the option to toggle Client must pay to reserve session ON which will automatically add an invoice to the same smart file. Clients will be able to schedule time and once they do, they'll be required to pay to reserve their session. Learn more about using smart files for scheduling.
