We'll cover some common reasons why your membership charge might be off from what you expected below.
Sales tax
Depending on your billing address, HoneyBook might collect sales tax on your membership payments. We will only charge sales tax where we are legally required to do so by the tax authorities of your state.
These taxes are only relevant to your HoneyBook membership fees—they are not related to the services you provide your clients or any payments they may make to you.
Taxes will apply to members with billing addresses in the following U.S. cities and states:
Arizona
Hawaii
Iowa
Maryland
Massachusetts
North Carolina
Ohio
Pennsylvania
Rhode Island
South Carolina
South Dakota
Tennessee
Texas
Utah
Washington
Washington D.C.
West Virginia

Where to check
If you live in a location where HoneyBook is required to charge taxes, you will see the sales tax calculated and added to your membership total upon checkout and before purchase.
After you purchase your membership, charges appear on your HoneyBook membership invoice, which you can find in your invoice history under Settings > Membership.
Expired promotion
If you applied a promotion when signing up that was valid for, for example, your first years' subscription, you should expect to see your plan renew at the regular rate after the first year.
Where to check
Charges appear on your HoneyBook membership invoice, which you can find in your invoice history under Settings > Membership.
