Keeping track of your client details and project context helps you stay organized and deliver a personal experience. In HoneyBook, you can add private notes directly to a client or contact profile so that key information is always right where you need it.
Before adding notes, it helps to understand the difference between the 2 types of notes in HoneyBook:
Client notes: Shared across your team. Everyone with access to the contact or project can view these notes. They’re best for information your whole team may need—like communication preferences, client background, or project updates.
Private notes: Visible only to you. These are for personal reminders, follow-ups, or sensitive details you don’t want teammates to see. Private notes are never shared with your team or the client.
📚 Tip
You can add or edit both types of notes directly from a contact profile—but this article focuses on how to create and manage private notes.
Add private notes about a client
From the navigation menu, select Contacts
Find and select the contact you want to add private notes about
Hover over the contact's name and select the Edit contact info (pencil) icon
Don't select the Notes tab, as those notes aren't private
Scroll down and under "Additional info," add your private notes
Select Save
From here, your private notes are stored on that contact's profile, but aren't shared with anyone else. You can review the private notes anytime by returning to your contact's profile, or by adding the "Additional info" column to your Contacts list.
