Use the timeline block in HoneyBook smart files

Learn how to add and customize the timeline block in HoneyBook smart files to create event schedules, project milestones, workshops, and day-of timelines with a clean, client-friendly layout

Updated this week

The timeline block in the smart file builder lets you create clear, chronological schedules directly inside your file—no manual tables or custom formatting required. Use it to outline event agendas, project milestones, workshop schedules, day-of timelines, or multi-phase deliverables in a structured, client-friendly layout that’s easy to scan, simple to update, and consistent across files. The timeline block is available on desktop and in the mobile app for all members.

Why use timeline in smart files

Previously, members often built schedules using manual formatting or legacy file features. The timeline block brings that structured scheduling functionality directly into smart files—helping streamline workflows and making it easier to manage everything in one place. By using the timeline block, you can:

  • Improve client clarity

  • Reduce formatting time

  • Keep schedules organized

  • Fully leverage smart files for proposals, contracts, and invoices
