Use the Gmail lead finder to import contacts

How to have HoneyBook AI pull potential clients from your Gmail account, so your inbox never buries an opportunity

When you connect your Gmail account, HoneyBook AI can identify potential leads that live in your email inbox. These opportunities will be automatically imported to your Contacts list, allowing you to bring all of your relationships into HoneyBook in near real-time.


Adjust Gmail lead finder settings

You can adjust this setting either from your settings or your Integrations.

Turn ON

From your settings

  1. First, ensure you’ve connected your Gmail account to HoneyBook

  2. Click your company logo to the bottom left corner of your screen > Company settings

  3. Select the HoneyBook AI tab

  4. Ensure Gmail lead finder is toggled ON

From your Integrations

  1. First, ensure you’ve connected your Gmail account to HoneyBook

  2. Click your company logo to the bottom left corner of your screen > Company settings

  3. Select the Integrations tab

  4. Locate the email integration area and ensure Gmail lead finder is toggled ON

Turn OFF

From your AI preferences

  1. Click your profile photo in the bottom left corner of your screen > Company settings

  2. Select the AI preferences tab

  3. Toggle Gmail lead finder OFF

From your Integrations

  1. Click your profile photo in the bottom left corner of your screen > Company settings

  2. Select the Integrations tab

  3. Locate the Email integration area and ensure Gmail lead finder is toggled OFF


How Gmail lead finder works

When you first turn it on

When you turn Gmail lead finder ON, HoneyBook AI will look through your past 3 months of communication history and pull in any identified leads. Here’s what happens when HoneyBook AI identifies a new lead.

Ongoing monitoring

When Gmail lead finder is kept ON, HoneyBook AI will continuously monitor for new relationship activity. If it identifies a new lead, you’ll receive:

How leads are imported

  • The lead will not receive any communication, nor will they be notified that they’ve been identified as a lead and added to your HoneyBook Contacts list

  • The lead will be added to your HoneyBook Contacts list with their email address, name, and last interaction date

    • The contact source will be set as: Gmail

  • A conversation summary generated by HoneyBook AI will be added to the contact notes (not visible to the lead)

From here, consider using AI-powered email drafts to quickly follow up with the lead and further nurture the relationship right from HoneyBook. When you get started working with them, be sure to create a project.
