Project details in HoneyBook help you stay organized by assigning key information—like project name, type, and date—to every inquiry you receive.
Customize default project name for inquiries
When a new inquiry comes in through a contact form, lead form, or the scheduler, the default project name no longer has to be "[client name]'s Project." This feature gives you more control and organization from the start of the client journey.
To edit the project name that appears immediately upon receiving an inquiry:
From the navigation menu, select your company logo > Company settings
Select Preferences
Scroll down to “Other preferences”
By “Default project name,” choose from a dropdown list of custom project name options—[event date] project, [client name] event, and more
Your choice will save and apply to any new project created moving forward.
Edit project details
To update any of your project’s key details (for example: project date):
Use the search bar, or select Projects from the navigation menu to find and open the project in question
When you get to the project, select the Details tab
Select the field you want to update and make your changes, which save automatically as you go
Who can see what?
Clients can view the Details of any project they’re added to
Clients can see all fields above the "Not visible to clients" section
The “Not visible to clients” section is only visible to you and your internal team members who have access to the project. This is where you can store internal notes and information that should remain confidential
Remember that you can add custom project fields and adjust what fields clients can see. Learn how here
