Let clients upload files through your smart files and lead forms

Add a place for your clients to supply you with their files in your smart files.

Updated over a week ago

To streamline communication and file organization, you can add a file upload block to your smart files and lead forms. This feature allows clients to upload files directly through your smart files and lead forms, which will be accessible in the project once the file or form is submitted.

📣 Note

File upload blocks cannot be added to contact forms.

Add a file upload block

Up to three file upload blocks can be added to a smart file or lead form. Clients can then upload:

  • Up to 10 attachments per file upload block

  • Each file can be up to 15MB

  • Files can be formatted in JPG, PNG, PDF, or GIF (smart files) and JPG, PNG, or GIF (lead forms—PDF uploads are not currently support in lead forms)

How to add a file upload block:

  1. When building a smart file, click the large plus (+) sign to add a new block > select File upload

  2. Customize the file upload block

  3. When done customizing the block, continue building your smart file

Customize a file upload block

Here are some options to customize your file upload block:

  • Rename the block by selecting the space above where your client will upload a file

    • Consider prompting your client to upload a specific kind of file type, and add details about what they should include in whatever you're asking for

  • In the settings sidebar, toggle whether the client must upload a file ON or OFF

    • If toggled ON, the client will be required to upload before they can proceed

  • Select the gear icon at the top-right corner of the block to change how the block looks (like its background color)

View what your client uploaded

When your client uploads files, they can return to the block to see what they added. To view what your client uploaded:

  1. Use the search bar or select Projects from the top navigation menu to find the project that contains the file through which your client uploaded a document

  2. When you're in the project, click on the file to open the File Summary

  3. From here, you'll find the files your client uploaded

    1. Preview the file by selecting it

    2. Download the file from within the preview
