📣 Note

This article covers a feature that's included in an invite-only closed beta. If you're not a part of the beta, your finance suite will look different, and the help articles you'll want can be found here.

You can easily retrieve any account statements and transaction reports needed to reconcile your books. Account statements will have standard information (like transactions and any fees) while a transaction report will also include what category and project the transactions are linked to.

Account statements are also where you can verify the address you have on file with HoneyBook Finance, though you will need to have at least one transaction on file to begin creating statements. If the address is incorrect, contact support by selecting the Question Mark icon on any HoneyBook page.

Retrieve a statement or transaction report

1. Go to the Finance tab in the top navigation menu → select Dashboard.

2. Select Actions → select Download documents.

3. Select account statement or transaction report.

4. Select the year you want to pick your document from.

5. Next to the document’s month, select the download icon.

Account statements will be downloaded as PDFs and transaction reports will be downloaded as CSVs.

Learn more about the documents

Each document contains important information about your checking account. The account statement will have typical information, like a transaction list as well as any fees.

The transaction report contains more detailed information about the transactions themselves, like what category and project the transaction is linked to, as well as the transaction type (which will tell you more about where this transaction came from).

These are the different transaction types you can see in the transactions report:

Transaction type

Funds were withdrawn from your account via an ATM machine.

A payment was made between two accounts on the same bank (e.g., funds were added to your tax savings bucket).

A catch-all type that covers when a card was used to make a transaction, but neither an ATM withdrawal nor a purchase took place (e.g., you used your card to send a PayPal payment).

Funds were transferred out of your account via ACH.

A previously processed ACH payment you made was canceled.

A purchase was made with a card.

An ACH payment was received by a deposit account.

An ACH payment was returned by the bank (not the account holder).
