How to apply tax to your packages and items

Updated over a week ago

In HoneyBook, tax is applied to specific goods and services. If you’re seeing the tax amount unintentionally showing $0 in an invoice, go through your file and check off tax for the appropriate packages/items by following the steps below.

Apply tax in an invoice

While there is no universal setting for tax, you can set tax on a template level. This ensures that whenever you use the template, the correct tax rate will already be applied. You have the option to remove or modify tax on individual files if needed.

  1. Toggle on and set the tax rate from the invoice settings

  2. For each taxable item, select the checkbox under Tax

    1. If you don't see the Tax column, you'll need to make it visible in the invoice design settings

From here, the tax will not be applied to that item. The tax amount will also appear above the invoice total at the bottom of the page.
