How to manually set a project as Free or Busy for session scheduling availability

Updated over a week ago

On the Details tab of each project, you can choose if the project date or date range will impact your availability for session scheduling. This feature is useful if you have a long project timeframe but still want to have the option to meet with other clients during that period.

📣 Note

The availability you set only affects a project once it is booked (when it holds a smart file that includes a signed contract or an invoice with a payment made on it). Clients can still schedule sessions for tentative projects, even if the project is marked as Busy.

By default, all projects are set to Busy, and can be adjusted for each project individually (which is covered below).

Adjust your availability using project dates

How you set your availability will also set availability for all the team members and vendors that are participants in that project.

  1. Use the search bar or go to the Projects tab to locate the project you want to change your availability for

  2. When you get to the project workspace, select the Details tab

  3. In the Date & Location section, select the Availability drop-down menu > select your availability

    1. Free: Clients can schedule sessions with you during the primary project date/date range

    2. Busy: Clients can't schedule sessions during the primary project date/date range once the project is booked

    3. Changing your availability here only changes it for the primary project date/date range

Once you update a project’s availability, you’ll be able to view the project in your HoneyBook calendar with the selected availability marked. If the project is booked, your session scheduling availability will update immediately, too.
