Give your client a show with videos in your smart files

Give your clients an idea of what they'll get with video examples, testimonials, walkthroughs, and more when you add videos to a smart file.

Add a video to highlight past project examples, client testimonials, and more. You can also reuse video content by extracting pages and blocks of your templates into other smart files, saving you time.

Add a video block

  1. While building a smart file, select the page you want to add a video to

  2. Select the large plus icon > select Video

  3. Decide if you want to reuse a video from a template

    1. Updating the block after you reuse it won't update the original template

  4. Choose the video layout from the settings sidebar

    1. If you want to change the block layout after editing it, delete the block and add a new one

  5. Add the URL for the video into the Video URL field

    1. You can use videos hosted on YouTube, Vimeo, Wistia, Loom, or SoundCloud

  6. Customize the video > continue building the smart file

Make sure the video you're using is not listed as private. Also, if you're hosting the video on YouTube, you must allow embedding (this can be found in the video details).

Customize the video

Once you've added the video, select it to open the settings sidebar and customize it:

  • Choose whether the client can use full video controls or just play/pause

  • Decide if the video should start automatically when the client reaches the page this video lives on

    • A best practice is to not automatically start videos unless necessary

  • Decide if the video should loop once it's done

  • Select the gear icon for the block that the video lives in to change its settings (like its background color)
