With smart files, you can create questionnaires and include client comments or sign-offs on mood boards, proofing documents, and more. Additionally, clients can ask their own questions, meaning they can let you know up front what they need.
Add a question to an existing block
While building a smart file, select the block you want to add a question to
Select the small plus icon > select Question
Customize the question > continue building the smart file
Add a question block
While building a smart file, select the page you want to add a question to
Select the large plus icon > select Question
Decide if you want to reuse a question from a template
Updating the block after you reuse it won't update the original template
Choose the block layout from the settings sidebar
If you want to change the block layout after typing into it, delete the block and add a new one
Customize the question > continue building the smart file
Customize the question
Once you've added the question, select it to open the settings sidebar:
Change the question type (e.g., short text, multiple choice)
Toggle whether the question is required (the client can't submit the file until the question is answered)
Toggle whether the client's response should be linked to a project detail (e.g., address, budget)
Their answer will populate the project detail once they submit the file
Select the placeholder text for the question and answer field to replace it
Select the gear icon for the block that the question lives in to change its settings (like its background color)
