Invoices in HoneyBook make it easy to request and collect payments as part of your client workflow. You can add an invoice to any smart file, pair it with a contract or services block, customize it to match your brand, and share it with clients in just a few steps.
Add an invoice to a smart file
Invoices are added using the Invoice & pay block. You can't add an invoice to a page that already has a services, contract, or scheduler block.
📣 Note
You can include one invoice per smart file. An invoice block always includes a payment page.
On the web — add to an existing page
Open or create a smart file
Select
Add a blockUnder “Actions,” select Invoice & pay
Select Add to new page, then:
On the web — add to a new page
At the top of the smart file builder, select
Manage your pagesSelect + Add page
Select:
In the mobile app
Open or create a smart file
Select
Add a block > Invoice & Pay > Create page & add, then:
📣 Note
Recurring invoices and service-selection invoices can't be edited in the mobile app.

Hiding a column removes it from view but keeps totals accurate
You can edit most text directly inside the invoice block
Create an invoice template on the web (optional)
If you share similar invoices often, save time with a reusable template.
From the navigation menu, select Templates > File templates
Select Create new > Invoice
Name the template
Add services and adjust the design
Select Update template
To use the template for a client, select Use template and choose an existing or new project
Share the invoice
When your invoice is ready:
On the web: Select Share, customize your message and recipients, and select Send
In the mobile app: Select Share, then choose:
Share via email
Create link
Manage file access
Clients can view and complete the invoice on any device.
