Assign your clients tasks in a project

Work efficiently with your clients by assigning them tasks and reminders in the project workspace

To better consolidate all of your project-related items, you can assign your clients and collaborators tasks directly in the project workspace. You and your team can view and manage all tasks in a project (including ones assigned to you and your team), while clients and collaborators will only see the tasks assigned to them.

To assign a task to your client, you must have already invited them to the project workspace.

Assign tasks to your client or collaborator

  1. From the navigation menu, select Projects

  2. Select the project

  3. Go to the Tasks tab

  4. Select Add task

  5. From here, you can name the task, pick a due date and time, and assign it

You can also add a group tag. You can only add one group tag per task.

Import tasks from a different project

You can import tasks from one project into another. This can save you time if both are similar project types. Once you import the tasks, you can edit the assignee, due date and time as needed.

  1. From the navigation menu, select Projects

  2. Select the project

  3. Go to the Tasks tab

  4. Click the down arrow icon next to Add task

  5. Click Import from another project

  6. Review the tasks and click Import

Set a reminder for tasks

You can set a reminder for a task you assigned to a client or collaborator to remind them to complete the task. Note that you can only set reminders for tasks that have a due date and time.

  1. From the navigation menu, select Projects

  2. Select the project

  3. Go to the Tasks tab

  4. Click the three-dot icon on the task

  5. Click Set reminder

  6. Choose the reminder timeframe

From the three-dot icon on a task, you can also edit the reminder and delete the reminder.

Edit your task notification preferences

You can edit your notification preferences so that task creators, clients, and collaborators assigned to a task are notified when there is activity surrounding a task (for example, a reminder is set).

You can set up notifications to:

  • Send an email when a task is due

  • Send an email if a reminder is set

  • Show an in-app notification if a reminder is set

  • Send a message and show an in-app notification when someone completes a task

To edit these notifications:

  1. From the navigation menu, select your profile photo > Company settings

  2. Click Preferences

  3. Scroll to Tasks

  4. From here, you can toggle any notification ON or OFF.


How group tags work with tasks

You can create group tags to better organize your tasks. This helps if your project is a large event with multiple gatherings or a large project with multiple steps and clients. You can create up to 10 group tags per project.
