What should I do if my client doesn't receive the access code?

Before you begin, access codes are generated separately from the smart file email, and can take a couple of minutes to reach your client after you share a smart file. If they haven't received the access code email in a reasonable amount of time, here are some steps you or your client can take:

  1. You should check that the client's email is correct in your HoneyBook account by selecting their name in the project workspace's participants list

  2. Have your client search their spam and junk folders, as the access code email could have gotten filtered into one of those

  3. If neither of the above steps work, reshare the smart file with your client to generate a new access code


Can my clients forward smart files to other people?

If you'd like to ensure anyone beyond your client has access to a file, add the friend or colleague to the project regardless of whether the smart file has an access code or not.


Where can my client access their smart file?

Your client can access their smart file from the email they'll receive when you share the smart file, from the client portal, or from a direct link to the smart file that you share with them.
