Restricted businesses

All about the business and product categories HoneyBook supports

Updated over a week ago

At HoneyBook, we remain committed to the safety and financial health of all businesses on the platform. In doing so, we must abide by the policies and laws of banks, card networks, and other payment processing technologies. This means there are select business and product categories we are unable to support.

📚 Tip

The vast majority of business and product types are, indeed, supported! Chances are, everything will be business as usual for you. If you’re still curious about supported businesses, or think yours may be restricted, read on below.

What are restricted businesses?

A restricted business might be one that violates our Terms of Service, or the terms of bank, card network, or other payment processing technologies’ agreements.

How do I know if my business is restricted?

HoneyBook complies with Stripe’s prohibited and restricted business list. For a comprehensive list of these business types, please refer here.

In order to operate as a payment processing platform, HoneyBook regularly monitors transactions. If your business is flagged as potentially restricted, we may reach out to the email address associated with your HoneyBook account requesting additional identifying information.

Regardless of when an identification occurs, restricted businesses are unable to use the HoneyBook platform.
