Set a default file name format for smart files in HoneyBook

Choose a default file name format in HoneyBook to auto-name smart files and keep branding consistent across templates and automations

Updated this week

Set a default name format to make sure your file titling always reflects your brand. When you add a smart file template to a project or send one through an automation, the name will be automatically generated according to what you choose below.

If the format you want to use doesn't match the options below, you can adjust the smart file's title before sending it to clients.

Set a default file name format

  1. From the navigation menu, select Settings > Company settings

  2. Select the Preferences tab

  3. In the "Other preferences" section by "Default name format," select what naming format you want to choose for files sent using templates or automations

    1. Template name: The name of the template

    2. Project name + Template name: What the project is called, then the name of the template

    3. Project name + Smart file: What the project is called, then the smart file type

From here, your changes are saved automatically, and you'll notice the new naming format on future smart files you create.
