Organize your smart templates

How to use use folders and filters to organize your templates.

Your smart templates come with a number of handy organizational tools. Looking for more control over the template experience? Create folders to group smart templates together. Need to locate a specific template or template type? You can sort and filter your smart templates, too.


Folders

Create a new folder

  1. From your top navigation bar, select Templates > File Templates

  2. From your Templates page, select New Folder in the left sidebar

  3. Name your folder

Your new folder will be created. Now, you can move smart templates in and get yourself organized.

📚 Tip

Since you can filter your smart templates to quickly find all smart files that include the actions or content you need, we recommend using folders to categorize by things like type of services, type of client, stage of process, or type of billing schedule.

Rename a folder

📣 Note

You’ll only be able to edit folders that you’ve created. The All templates, Favorites templates, and Saved templates folders can't be edited.

  1. Click the three dot icon that appears when you hover over the folder

  2. Select Rename

  3. Rename your folder

Delete a folder

  1. Click the three dot icon that appears when you hover over the folder

  2. Select Delete

  3. Confirm you’d like to delete by clicking Delete Folder

    1. You’ll only be able to delete a folder if there are no templates inside of it

Add smart templates to folders

From your My Templates section, click the three dot icon on the smart file you’d like to organize. Select Move to Folder, then choose which folder you’d like to add the file to.

Alternatively, from within a smart template, simply click the three dot icon in the top right corner, then select Move to folder. From there, you can choose which folder you’d like to add the file to.

📚 Tip

If you’d like to add the smart file to your Favorites folder, click the star icon, instead!


Sorting and filtering

Adjust how templates are sorted

  1. From your top navigation bar, select Templates > File Templates

  2. From here, click on the Sort By drop-down

  3. Within the drop-down that appears, choose how you would like to sort your templates. You can sort by:

    • Newly created (default)

    • Oldest created

    • Name (A-Z)

Filter by smart file type

  1. From your My Templates section, locate the Filters area

  2. Next, click on the action(s) or content that you’d like the resulting smart templates to contain. You can select:

    • Invoice

    • Contract

    • Questions

    • Services (depending on how you’ve designed your brochures, they might appear under Services, or a different filter!)

    • Scheduler

📚 Tip

If you aren’t finding the template that you’re looking for, it may be because it doesn’t contain any actions. Try removing filters and looking for it by name instead.

Your templates containing only the actions or content selected will appear as results. Filters work together, so if you select Contract and Invoice, for example, only your templates with both actions will show up in the results.
