Using custom fonts in files

How to upload and use custom fonts in HoneyBook

Updated over a week ago

In order to craft a state-of-the-art client experience that completely aligns with your brand, you can upload custom fonts to use when building your HoneyBook files.

You can upload fonts in the company file theme section of your company brand settings, or from within individual smart files or smart templates. Wherever you choose to add, they’ll be saved to your list of custom fonts for future use across all files and templates!

PLEASE NOTE: Custom fonts are available only in smart files; they are not available in contact forms or emails.

Adding a custom font to smart files

1. If you currently have a smart file or smart file template open, click the paint palette icon or Customize Theme to open the smart file theme settings. Alternatively, you can navigate to the company file theme section of your company brand settings.

2. Click the Font drop down menu.

3. Click Upload Font.

4. Here, you’ll see any fonts you’ve already uploaded, and can click Upload Font again to proceed.

5. Locate the font you’d like to upload (be sure to save it somewhere accessible on your computer first!) and click to open.

PLEASE NOTE: At the moment, only TTF, OTF, WOFF and WOFF2 fonts can be uploaded.

6. The new font should now appear in your list of custom fonts, and you can click Done when you’re finished!

Now, you can easily locate the new addition in the My Fonts section of the Font drop-down, or in your main list of fonts! It will also be available for use as you create any other smart file or smart file template moving forward — no need to upload it again!

PLEASE NOTE: Please review the User Content Transmitted Through the Service clause in HoneyBook’s Terms of Service for an explanation of the liability around font licenses.

Managing & deleting custom fonts

Once you’ve uploaded a custom font, you’re able to download it again, or delete it from your list of custom fonts.

To manage or delete fonts:

1. Head back to the company file theme section of your company brand settings, or click the paint palette icon/Customize Theme from within a smart file or smart file template.

2. Click the Font drop down menu.

3. Click Upload Font.

4. Here, you’ll see any fonts you’ve already uploaded. Hover over a font and click the download icon to re-download it to your device, or click the trash can icon to remove it from your font list.

PLEASE NOTE: Deleting a font here will NOT affect any smart file or smart file templates in which the font has already been used; it will simply delete it from the font list moving forward.
