What are Templates?

Lesson 3: Setting Up for Success with Templates

In Lesson 3, (3 sections), now that you have the basic structure of your account in place, it's time to build out the core materials that will create the framework for your business communications: your pricing and file Templates!

Ready? Lesson 3, Section 1 begins below!

Templates are one of the great efficiencies that HoneyBook has to offer. From files, to emails, to pricing structure, we allow you to save your commonly used stuff and easily insert it into future Projects... because copying and pasting a million things every time you need to interact with a lead or client is less than fun.

Once you've created a Template for a particular element of your workflow, you can apply it to any Project with a few clicks. When creating a new file, for example, you'll have the option to quickly choose a Template to work off of.

And you can further customize from there! Any changes that you make will only save to that particular Project, without affecting the original Template.

Your Templates are all housed in the same place, which you can access by clicking the Tools tab in your top navigation bar, then selecting Templates.

From there, you can select the type of Template you’d like to view or create. You can create Templates for:

  • Brochures
  • Contact Forms
  • Contracts
  • Emails
  • Invoices
  • Questionnaires
  • Packages (pricing)
  • Proposals

When creating Templates, all changes will save automatically. If you come back later to make changes, these changes will only apply to files moving forward—not files you’ve already sent.

Remember, creating Templates is a great place to start when you’re initially setting up your account, but it’s not a one-time thing! You can always add more Templates later, edit existing Templates, or remove Templates that are no longer relevant.

In the next section, Building Package, Invoice, and Contract Templates, we’ll go over how to do just that, helping you create some of those foundational elements of your account!
