Understand Taxable Amount in Reports
When you download financial reports, the Taxable Amount column reflects how much of each payment is subject to tax based on your invoice setup.
How it’s Calculated
HoneyBook determines the taxable percentage of a file to ensure accurate reporting:
(full payment amount - payment tax) × taxable percent of total file value
To calculate the taxable percent of total file value, HoneyBook uses:
invoice total taxable amount / invoice subtotal
This ensures each payment is accurately attributed based on what parts of the invoice were marked as taxable.
📚 Tip
Taxable = line sub-items or services marked as “Taxed” on your invoice
Non-taxable = sub-items that were left unchecked (not taxed)
This breakdown allows you to confidently determine how much of your income is taxable for reporting or accounting purposes.

Report Charts
The reports page offers various graphs and charts to help you see your earnings visually. The below sections can be used to gather metrics to meet your needs.
Monthly Sales Report
This is a breakdown of booked files and revenue. This chart will show your gross booked amount including any discounts, tips or taxes, but does not calculate for any fees, loan repayments, or disputes/chargebacks. Additionally, future payments are not calculated for recurring invoices.
📣 Note
Bookings calculations differ by date type. The Home page "Bookings" widget and the Reports page "Gross booked amount" use different date logic, so they won't always match:
Gross booked amount (Reports) counts the full contract value of any project booked in the selected year — even if some payments aren't due until a future year.
Bookings (Home page) counts only the payments dated within the selected year, regardless of when the project was booked.
Booked vs Sent files
This chart is a summary of files sent to those booked within a given year. A “booked” project means that a client has signed a contract or paid an invoice. This is helpful to see your booking rate which indicates the percentage of files sent to clients that eventually get booked.
Bookings
This section shows financial details (gross booked amount, collected, outstanding, and refunded payments) for projects with a service date in the selected range. A project counts as "booked" once the client has signed a contract or paid an invoice.
Lead generation from contact forms
This chart shows the source of your leads within a given time period to help you identify your most lucrative leads from contact forms. There are tabs so you can see your lead source breakdown (Distribution), revenue by lead source (Value), lead source conversion percentage (Conversion) and conversion time (Time-to-book).
