My client can't sign their agreement, what should I do?

If your client has reached out to you because they can't sign their agreement, there are a few reasons why they might not be able to sign. 

Invalid Email:

Signatures within agreements are linked to the email of the client that you list as a participant on a project workspace. If the client is unable to sign be sure to double check that the email address for the client is entered correctly.

The client email can be found on the agreement signature line and on a participant's contact information in the project workspace.

Wrong participant accessing file:

You may have one or more clients that you are working with on a project. Within an 
agreement only the person listed as a signee will be able to sign the agreement. This means that if you are working with two clients on a project, but only one of these is listed as a signee on the agreement, then only that person can sign. On an agreement, you can list as many signatures as you like.

If your client receives an error message when trying to sign the agreement they will want to make sure that they are not accessing the file as the other client on the workspace. The link here will show the client how to be sure that they are accessing the file as the correct user.

Missing required fields:

In the 
agreement you can add field options that the client is required to fill in and complete. Before signing the agreement the client will need to be sure all of these fields are complete.

Accept Changes:

Sometimes you might need to make edits to an agreement and/or proposal after having sent this to your client. Not a problem!

After making changes to the file don't forget to resend this to the client. They will receive a notification that changes have been made and will be able to accept the changes. Once they accept the changes they can sign their agreement.


Pro Tip: Signatures in agreements are always linked to the email address of the client listed on the agreement and only this person will be able to sign.
