Email deliverability is top priority for us at HoneyBook. It's also highly complex–with so many factors at play, it can be difficult to pinpoint the exact reason why a message may or may not be delivered or flagged as spam.
That said, there are a number of proactive steps you can take to make sure your messages are delivered as intended:
Implement email content best practices – Learn how to write and format strong emails that don't trigger spam software.
Improve your email reputation – Take steps like keeping your engagement rate in mind, and making sure clients add you to their contacts lists, to boost your sender reputation.
Define DKIM, SPF, and DMARC records – If you integrate an email that has a custom domain, make sure to define these email authentication records to increase the likelihood that messages are successfully delivered.
Check your Domain Name System (DNS) records – If you integrate an email that has a custom domain,, you can check that your SPF and DKIM records are properly defined right from your HoneyBook account.
Add an unsubscribe link to your marketing emails – You can easily mark any commercial email you send as "marketing," which will automatically add in an unsubscribe link to boost the chances of your clients receiving the message.
Read up on the 2024 Google and Yahoo spam filter updates – Check out the blog for more on how you can ensure your business is prepared for the email spam filter updates.
